Governing Body of Chesterton School, Apsley Road, Cirencester

“Growing Together, Learning Forever”

Governor Vacancy

Our school currently has one vacancy on its governing body. We are seeking to appoint a new governor who would act as a “pupil champion” ensuring that the views and interests of our children are central to our decision-making.

We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would be interested in taking up this rewarding, voluntary role to help support our school. The role would particularly suit those with some experience of working with primary-age children.

To take up this role, you will need:

  • To be at least 18 years of age.
  • To be enthusiastic and keen to engage in the life of our school.
  • To be able to attend 12 evening meetings per year.
  • To be available for a small amount of time each term during school hours to meet with children.

We anticipate that a further position will arise in September and will also consider expressions of interest for this post from those with relevant skills, particularly those with experience of PR and marketing.

For more information about this position, please contact our school administrator, Lyn Meredith: admin@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk.

Chesterton Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all governors to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful applicant.
