Chamber of Commerce October Power Hour - Cyber security

1:00 pm-2:00 pm

Other Business Events

Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue. It’s a business risk.

How prepared is your business for a cyber attack?

The cyber threat to UK SMEs and micro-businesses remains high and should be considered a business risk rather than purely an IT risk.

The latest UK Government Cyber Security Breaches Survey found that 43% of UK businesses identified a cyber breach or attack during the previous 12 months, equating to approximately 612,000 businesses.

For a small business, the consequences of a successful cyber attack can be significant—disrupting operations, causing financial loss, compromising sensitive information, and damaging customer confidence.

So, how much of a threat is there to your business in 2026?

Join us for this practical online event as we explore the cyber threats currently facing UK SMEs and micro-businesses, and what business owners and managers can realistically do to improve their cyber resilience.

We’ll look at why cyber criminals target smaller businesses, the types of attacks you need to be aware of, and why protecting your business needs to be viewed as part of your wider risk management strategy.

What will you take away?

We’ll provide practical suggestions and straightforward actions to help you:

  • Better understand the cyber threats facing your business
  • Identify potential weaknesses in your current cyber posture
  • Improve your organisation’s cyber resilience
  • Better protect your business against the actions of cyber criminals
  • Reduce the potential impact of a successful cyber attack
  • Take a more proactive approach to managing cyber risk

You’ll also receive practical handout documents to support you after the event, giving you useful information and actions that you can take away and apply within your own business.

Who should attend?

This event is ideal for SME owners, directors, senior managers, micro-business owners and anyone responsible for managing risk within their organisation.

No specialist IT or cybersecurity knowledge is required. The focus is on practical, business-focused guidance that can be understood and acted upon by organisations of all sizes.

Don’t assume it won’t happen to you.

Cyber criminals don’t only target large organisations. Your business could be at risk right now.

Join us online to understand the threat, strengthen your cyber posture, and better equip your business to deal with cyber criminals in 2026.

Chamber of Commerce November Power Hour - Linkedin

1:00 pm-2:00 pm

Chamber Events

If you think LinkedIn is stuffy and just for corporate types and job hunters, you may want to think again.

In reality it is the quiet powerhouse where your customers, suppliers, and referral partners are scrolling every day and where hardly any local businesses are showing up, which means the ones who do get noticed fast.

In this practical one-hour session you’ll learn how to turn your profile from a dusty online CV into a shop window that wins you business, what to post (and what to avoid, no bragging here!)  and the simple 15-minute weekly habit that gets you seen without ever feeling salesy. You’ll leave with a profile checklist, a free workbook full of templates and post ideas, and a plan you can put into action that same afternoon.

Bring your lunch and your slightly neglected LinkedIn profile
