Apprenticeships Industry Experience

An Apprenticeship is a full time job with a blend of ‘on’ and ‘off’ the job training. This combination provides the apprentice with the skills they need for their chosen career, while also earning a wage.

Apprenticeships are an excellent way for employers to bring new and fresh talent in to their organisation.

You can recruit an apprentice at any time of the year providing they are over the age of 16. There is no upper age limit to starting an apprenticeship.

When recruiting an apprentice, it is important that you support them to receive relevant training and to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to be a success in the workplace.

An apprentice must have a contract of employment with you, get paid a salary and receive the relevant statutory benefits, such as holiday pay.

The apprenticeships that we offer range in length from 15 months to anything up to 3 years, depending on the programme. We offer apprenticeship standards in the following sectors:

T-Levels Technical-based Qualifications

Join the T-level revolution at Cirencester College. T-levels or Technical Levels are ground breaking new qualifications which are equivalent to 3 A-levels. T-levels have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training or study.

Cirencester College have been at the forefront of the roll out of T-levels since September 2020 and now as an experienced provider offer a broad range of subjects.

T-levels offer students a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience during an industry placement of at least 315 hours (approximately 45 days).

We are keen to work with employers who can offer placements to our T-Level students in Digital industries, Construction, Childcare and Health & Health Science.

From 2022 we will also be running T-Levels in Engineering (manufacturing, green futures and design & development), Building Services Engineering, Business Management, Finance and Administration & Accounting.

Other Ways You Can Get Involved

  • Becoming an employer mentor to a student (approx. 1 hour per month)
  • Offering work experience placements (various models)
  • Delivering a talk to students (1 or 2 hour session)
  • Hosting an employer/company visit
  • Becoming a competition judge
  • Carrying out mock interviews (approx. ½ a day per year)
  • Delivering a workshop related to employability skills such as CV writing, interview skills, emotional intelligence (1 or 2 hour session)
  • Delivering a sector specific workshop related to your industry (1 or 2 hour session)
  • Sponsoring awards
