Andrew is a senior Director at St. James’s Place and has been at the company for 15 years.  Previously Director of Investments and before that Marketing, he now covers our Social Value and Charitable Foundation departments, Conferences and our Private Client proposition for high net worth individuals.

Amanda Strange with Banter Bingo

 You’re having a chat, you think everyone is on the same page and shares the same sense of humour. But then someone says something … You don’t know how to react … What should you do?

What is Banter? Sometimes described as ‘the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks; conversation that is funny and not serious; and talking to someone in a friendly and humorous way’

Banter in the workplace though, can easily cross the line and become unacceptable harassment or bullying which employers need to deal with!

Amanda Strange, Director at The HR Dept, will talk about when ‘banter’ goes wrong in the workplace and share some real stories. This will be done in the style of an engaging bingo session, whilst also highlighting the serious implications for employers.

Amanda is a fully qualified HR professional with over 14 years’ experience across a wide range of industries. The HR Dept specialises in offering pragmatic and personal HR and employment law support to business owners. Their services cover everything to do with employing people and will help business owners to prevent people problems or resolve problems when they do occur.

Vicky Henderson Ascending Performance Coach

Vicky will give a whistle stop introduction to emotional intelligence, what it is and how, by increasing it, it could help you and your business or career develop. Non-members are welcome to attend up to 2 meetings (includes evening and breakfast meetings) in any 12 month period free of charge, after which there will be a fee of £10 per meeting.

Please remember there is a charge of £8.50 for our breakfast meeting

Chamber Evening Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month.
Chamber Breakfast Meetings are the third Thursday of each month.

Numbers are limited, and registration will close when the maximum is reached, so please remember to register!
